What to Expect

Your First Therapy Session

EMDR is a powerful, evidence-based therapy that has helped countless individuals find relief, reclaim their sense of self, and move forward with greater confidence and peace.

Before beginning EMDR therapy, we will conduct a comprehensive and personalized assessment to ensure it is the right approach for you. This process is collaborative—you are an active participant in identifying the memories or experiences we will work through together.

Each session lasts 60 to 90 minutes and is tailored to your unique needs. Our goal is to help you process and integrate any distressing memories, reduce emotional intensity, and equip you with resilient coping strategies.

Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor
Wooster's Leading EMDR and Counseling Therapist

Since I was about 12 years old, I knew that if I ever pursued college, it would be to become a therapist. I achieved that goal in 2018 and have been practicing for seven years. I have a special passion for working with individuals who have experienced generational trauma, childhood trauma, domestic violence, relationship trauma, sexual abuse, perfectionism, and ADHD/neurodivergence. I’m also deeply passionate about supporting parents who are striving to break generational cycles for themselves and their children, empowering them to become the best parents possible. I greatly value building genuine connections with my clients and believe a strong therapeutic relationship is essential. My approach to therapy is collaborative, fostering open and equal conversations. I prioritize honesty, respect, safety, vulnerability, and empowerment as key elements in creating a meaningful and effective therapeutic experience.

On a more personal note, I share my life with my husband and our two wonderful little boys. We’re passionate dog lovers and have two Dogo Argentinos (Lucius and Church). A special tribute to my girl Cleo, our beloved Pitbull, whom we sadly lost recently. I’ve also been keeping fish for several years and enjoy designing and maintaining several tanks.

Morgen Lehr, MA, LPC

Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor
Specializes in Working With Children and Women

I’m Morgen, a licensed therapist (LPC) who works with both children and adults to support meaningful growth, emotional resilience, and practical change.

My approach is warm, solution-focused, and grounded in authenticity. I believe therapy should feel like a real conversation—honest, supportive, and focused on what matters most to you. Whether I’m working with a child learning to manage big emotions or an adult navigating anxiety, stress, or life transitions, I aim to create a space that feels safe, encouraging, and goal oriented.

In sessions, I focus on identifying strengths, clarifying challenges, and developing practical tools that lead to lasting change. I bring curiosity, compassion, and realness to the work, so you or your child can feel supported in a way that’s both genuine and effective.

If you’re ready to take the next step toward change, I’d be honored to work with you.

Hello, I’m very excited to be part of the team here at A Better Version!

I have over 22 years of experience as a therapist and enjoy working with individuals of all ages and backgrounds. A majority of my training revolves around trauma, grief, abuse, severe mental health diagnosis, and crisis intervention/management, but I am also very passionate about helping individuals with the more day to day struggles of depression, anxiety, relationship issues, life adjustments and transitions, and stress.

I strive to make a strong therapeutic connection with my clients and have a down to earth, friendly and compassionate approach – hopefully making it a better experience for those who might find therapy intimidating. Don’t be surprised if I use a little humor in our sessions!

So, whether you’re a gracefully aging elder, a pre-teen or adolescent, from a culturally diverse background, male, female, or a couple – I’d love to get to know you and watch you progress into the best version of yourself!

Aside from my love of being a therapist, family is very important to me. I am a local native and currently live in the country outside Wooster with my loving husband, 2 teenage children and our 2 dogs. When I’m not working, you can usually find me getting into various DIY projects around our home or in the yard working in flower beds and landscaping.

Life is like a novel. Each chapter tells the story of who we are—moments of joy and celebration, seasons of pain and disappointment, and transitions that leave us wondering what comes next. Some chapters close without warning, and we’re left unsure how to begin again. I’ve been there. I understand what it feels like to face uncertainty, rebuild after loss, and question how to move forward.

My work is grounded in the belief that you are crowned in strength. Inspired by the wisdom of Book of Proverbs 31, I believe every person carries resilience, dignity, and courage—even when life has made that hard to see. Counseling is a space to rediscover those strengths, build upon them, and begin writing your next chapter with clarity and confidence.

“Restoration” is more than a word—it’s a lived experience. It means rebuilding after mistakes, loss, trauma, or life transitions. It means learning that your story is not over. Together, we focus on healing what has wounded you while strengthening the foundation for what comes next.

My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and client-centered. I utilize EMDR, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused techniques. I also incorporate bibliotherapy—using carefully selected books and guided reading as tools for reflection, insight, and growth.

I have experience working with survivors of domestic violence and intimate partner violence, as well as individuals healing from childhood trauma, physical abuse, sexual abuse, and traumatic events such as car accidents or house fires. I provide a safe, supportive space where your experiences are honored and your healing is prioritized.

I also have a heart for individuals navigating midlife and beyond. As someone who has stepped into the 55+ season, I understand the physical, medical, family, and career transitions that can accompany this stage of life. Aging brings both wisdom and unexpected change. You don’t have to navigate those transitions alone.

Wherever you are in your story—whether you’re closing a painful chapter or beginning again—I would be honored to walk alongside you as you rebuild, restore, and write what comes next

My View: Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to navigate life’s complexities alone. Whether you are a teenager facing the pressures of school, an emerging adult finding your footing, or an adult managing the weight of life’s transitions, you will be provided a safe, non-judgmental space where your story is heard and honored.

My Approach: I utilize an eclectic modality, meaning I draw from various evidence-based practices to meet your specific needs. My approach is client-centered and rooted in the belief that every individual is unique. I operate through a trauma-focused and culturally sensitive lens and strive to ensure our work together is as unique as you are. You will experience a therapeutic space that is one of safety, empathy, and unconditional positive regard.

I am EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) trained, which allows us to process and integrate traumatic memories that may be keeping you stuck in cycles of anxiety or depression. By blending specialized trauma work with a genuineness that honors your lived experience, we work together to move from mere “coping” to genuine flourishing. Integrating EMDR with a client-centered foundation will help you process past experiences while building practical tools for the present.

My Philosophy: I believe that while we cannot change our past experiences, we can change how we carry them. My role is to walk alongside you as an advocate on your journey. Together, we will address the stressors and transitions that feel unmanageable—whether you are struggling with anxiety, navigating the fog of depression, working through the lasting impact of trauma and PTSD, or experiencing other mental health symptoms.

My Focus: I specialize in working with adolescents (13-19), emerging adults (18-29), and adults (30-35). My clinical experience includes:

  • Trauma & PTSD: Utilizing EMDR, TF-CBT, and  trauma-informed care to find relief from the past.

  • Anxiety, Depression, Other Symptoms: Navigating the weight of persistent worry, low mood, or other presenting symptoms.

  • Life Transitions: Support for those navigating school shifts, career starts, or changing family dynamics.

I believe that a healthy life is a balanced one. When I am not in the office, I find my own balance by spending quality time with my husband, son, and friends. You can often find us on urban adventures, playing cards or board games, or throwing a ball to our energetic Golden Retriever, Cosmo.”
